Let’s Move! Blaine (LMB) is active community organization apart of Let’s Move! Cities, Towns and Counties.

Vision: Children born today will grow up active and healthy.

Mission: The LMB Coalition links schools and families with community resources to promote the health of our children.

 1.Approval of the April 24, 2017 Minutes:
-Moved by Kelle, second’ by Dan.

2.Treasurer’s Report: LMB Account balance(s):

 3.Jaclyn’s Report on Water Bottles;
-Jaclyn presented 2 different water bottles under $5.00
-The Board selected a water bottle to purchase: 26oz BPA-Free Aluminum with a screw-on lid. Comes with a matching carabiner. Orange bottle with black logo.

-Jaclyn will order 100 of these water bottles.


4.Grow For It Enrichment Class Update:
-The classes went great!
-15 kids registered for the class.

-We have created a survey for parents/children to fill out, to assist us in plans for next year's classes.
-Try to get people involved with Garden Angles (Gardening Club).

-We are teaming up with Kelsey Clarke, the coordinator at the Blaine Boys and Girls Club, to have the children maintain the Kid’s Garden Project plot one day a week this Summer – Thursdays at 2pm.
-Kelle to finish letter and get to Dan for distribution to the 2017 participants (and their families) to encourage them to be “Garden Angels” during the summer, as well as to complete a survey, to assist us in plans for next year's classes. The letter will contain links to both items.

-Dan will also try to get email addresses and send the same letter to participants/families electronically.

 5.Whatcom Family Community Network Update: Dan

-We are looking forward to this partnership!

-Details not yet finalized - will update more when able.

 6.Trail Meeting:
-Our next meeting will plan and discuss this topic in great detail.

-Jaclyn and Dan meet to catch Jaclyn up on the details of this project.


7.Jaclyn's Tentative Monthly List of Duties:

-Press Release with B&G Club

-Find a way to add a sizing option for RTTB t-shirts.

-Finalize and order water bottles.

-Meet with Dan to get familiarized with Trails Project.

-Make a FB post, as well as 'following' everyone associated with LMB.

-Update and maintain website. (Add new page for new minutes)

-Create a list of organizations in Blaine/Birch Bay.

-Start creating an email list.

-Start working on Run to the Border details.

-Fix Godaddy errors and email address.

8.Next Meeting?

-Next meeting will be on Monday, July 31st - 3:30pm at Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation, District 2
